Pair #10

I'm a little behind on the sock knitting, since I took a break. Hopefully, I can catch up at some point. These are pair #10.

Pattern: Queen of Cups from Knitty
Yarn: Dream in Color Smooshy in In Vino Veritas
Started on: 8/3
Finished on: 8/21

The pattern was easy to follow and fun to knit.

Pair #17 Done -- Yarn Remnant Potluck Footies

I knit these from whatever yarn remnants were close at hand in order to proof my own pattern's toe up version prior to publication. 2.25 mm needles and a combination of Louet Gems Pearl remnants and Tausendschon remnants.

Pairs 15 to 20 finished from Annette2u

These are the next 6 pairs of socks from #'s 15 to 20.
Am posting on Ravelry but forgetting to enter here on the blog.
Doing lost of smaller socks for the Afghanistan children.
But the size 13 makes up for some of them.

Pair #14 and Pair #15 Done

My pairs #14 and #15 completed in August are for contribution to a book project. Pair #14 is in Louet Gems Pearl in Sandstone. Pair #15 is in Louet Gems Pearl in Caribbean Blue. Both are knit from the same design (mine) on 2.25 mm needles. One is knit top-down and the other toe-up.

#5 - finally finished

This pair seemed to take forever.  The yarn is lovely, but I found it hard on my hands and it 'wormed' quiet a bit, especially, as luck would have it, on the second sock.   On to the next!  Going to use a fluffy, stretchy, wooly yarn next. One with lots of lanolin or maybe that stuff w/aloe added

Pair #9

Pattern:
Eleanor socks from Socktopia

Yarn: Shibuiknits in Breeze

Started on: Aug 3
Finished on: Aug 10

The pattern is a lot of fun to knit. It gets addicting after awhile. This is the second time I've knit this pattern. This was my first time working with Shibuiknits yarn. The yarn is incredibly soft and easy to work with. I think I need to go buy some more of it.

Delinquent Knitter :0...4/52

Seems I am a bit behind, but it's OK. Here is #4 I believe. Poor color choice for my first attempt at cable knitting. A nice soft solid or heathery color would have shown it off better. I also tried to get the socks to mirror one another, not so much...but I am happy with the results. It is the Celtic Cable Heel sock knitted with 4 full repeats. The yarn is Wildfoote Rhapsody...and I love the rich colors. These have already been sent to my eldest daughter and she likes a snug fit through the foot....and I changed from a size 2 needle from the leg to a size #1 on the heel to toe portion. It also makes them last longer. I had never knitted a patterned sock before other than a little heart here and there, but this is my first ever Cable. It was a fun learning experience. I still cannot knit toe-up, but Oh well....to everything there is a season. Happy knitting to all.

Terry Ross's Sock #12 reminds me of this :)

Terry, You are so creative!. I looked at your sock #12, unnamed, and thought of a plant I had on my patio when I was first married. It was so pretty. Your beautiful fuschia and green sock reminded me of it. It took me a few days to come up with the name of the plant....I really enjoy seeing your beautiful socks and realize how talented you are. Can't wait to see the front of your socklets. :)

I think I forgot to post... (Pairs 1-3)

Well, two whole months in and I'm just getting around to posting! I haven't been knitting as much as usual since I've been getting ready for a big cross-country move, but here are a few pairs of socks:

Pair #1:

Pair #2:

Pair #3:

Pretty sad progress, but I'm hoping to ramp it up on my road trip.

Pair #13 Done -- Footies

Sorry to be so coy with this photo … but my 13th pair of finished socks (these footies) are actually a prototype/swatch for a full length sock pattern I’m developing for inclusion in an upcoming book, so I don’t want to steal the authors’ thunder by unveiling the design ahead of publication.

These footies were knit on 2.25 mm needles from some Wollmeise Spina di Pesci remnants, and will go to my mom. The pattern for the full sized socks will be written for both cuff-down and toe up.

Pair 10

This pair took a little longer than the others (I'm not sure why--it went quickly when I was working on it, but I must have knit more on non-sock projects that I have been), but I'm done!

To sum up, the pattern is Embossed Leaves from a winter issue of Interweave Knits (2005?). I used a 2.5 mm needle, and about 200 yards of Leili from the Unique Sheep. I started July 16, and I finished last night (July 31).

This is the first time I've made socks with super short cuff/leg.

#13 and #14 socks finished

Am busy knitting now for Knitting4CanadianSoldiers so lots of sock knitting to do.
Am loving every moment of this challenge. These socks will be given out to the Afganistan children by our soldiers.
This is pairs #13 & #14.
Have already cast on for the 3rd pair and doing the heel, now. Helps when you are using thicker yarns and larger needles. These socks should fit probably 2 -4 years of age. Have to find some wool for a girls socks as seems all I have is darker colors.

Pair #12 Done -- Unnamed as yet

Here is my pair #12, completed this afternoon. Tausendschon yarn, 2.00 mm needles, my own design.

Socks 4, 5, and 6

Well, I didn't knit as much as I expected to on a three-week vacation (too busy having fun) but had a one-day business trip during which I knitted an entire sock! I also got a bit behind on my picture taking. The fourth pair was started June 16 and the sixth pair was finished July 26.
